Job description
Role overview
The Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial and contractual management of construction and infrastructure work, with a focus on controlling costs, handling contract matters, evaluating commercial risk, and helping project teams deliver efficiently and accurately from a financial standpoint. The position also serves as a commercial point of reference to ensure contract compliance, accurate financial handling, and strong project records throughout the full lifecycle.
Key duties
- Check and process interim payment certificates, making sure all required checklists are completed and the correct approval and payment steps are followed.
- Assess requests for change, variation orders, and related commercial documents, and provide clear commercial input.
- Assist in commercial conversations with vendors to close out matters such as interim payments, requests for change, variation orders, extension of time claims, and final accounts.
- Keep commercial trackers up to date, including contract expiry and payment status logs, and draft contract amendments or addenda when required.
- Evaluate RFQs and RFPs, and create sourcing requests and purchase requests in SAP Ariba.
- Support internal audit activities by gathering and organizing the requested documents.
- Review insurance and bond submissions and share comments where needed.
- Join commercial meetings and help coordinate communication between engineers, PMCs, vendors, and internal teams.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should have prior exposure to FIDIC-based contracts, a degree in Quantity Surveying from a recognized university, and at least 5 years of relevant post-degree experience in contracts and commercial management.
