Role overview

Manley is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to handle end-to-end surveying and estimating work on construction projects in Drogheda, Ireland. Key duties

• Take ownership of the full quantity surveying and estimating workflow.
• Track and control project costs from start to finish.

• Manage contract administration and oversee the procurement process.
• Make sure contractual commitments are fully complied with.
• Spot commercial risks that could affect project profitability and put mitigation plans in place.
• Support and guide junior members of the quantity surveying team.
• Prepare payment applications and value reports for projects.
• Monitor costs and negotiate/agree variations as required.
• Report monthly to senior management on financial performance and cost-to-value reconciliation.
• Prepare and present cost and risk analysis.
• Ensure the business secures the best value across all project elements.
• Audit and report on subcontractor and supplier returns.

Candidate profile

• Residential project experience is preferred, though comparable construction experience will also be considered.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role with a main contractor.
• A bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Professional membership with a recognised institution is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and the legislation that applies to them.
• A full, clean Irish or European driving licence.
• Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team.
• Able to manage deadlines effectively.
• Strong numeracy and computer skills.
