QGIS Expert

Overview

Handshake is seeking experienced QGIS practitioners to contribute to AI research on a flexible, hourly contract basis. This role is not a standard full-time position; instead, it focuses on applying real-world knowledge of geographic information systems, spatial analysis, and environmental mapping to assess AI-produced outputs and share feedback that improves how AI handles GIS tasks and spatial workflows.

This opportunity is project-based and ongoing, so it can be taken up alongside other work or commitments.

Work format

• The engagement is fully remote and asynchronous, allowing you to work independently from any location.
• Hours are flexible, and there is no minimum weekly time commitment.
• Tasks may include writing domain-specific prompts and reviewing LLM-generated responses.
• You may build new skills while contributing to AI work across different areas.
• Assignment to a project depends on whether suitable project work is available at the time.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional experience working with QGIS or similar technical tools is required.
• Applicants should be comfortable working asynchronously with AI research teams.
