About the Role
As the second QA Engineer on the team, you will take end-to-end responsibility for product quality and help define the QA function from an early stage. Partnering closely with the QA Lead, you will work autonomously on test strategy, automation, and raising quality standards throughout the full development cycle, spanning frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure. The environment includes AI-driven computer vision, browser-based 3D visualization, and modern cloud technology, all aimed at building software that supports clinicians in reaching quicker and more reliable diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Own release test planning, including defining the testing scope and keeping related documentation current.
- Create and maintain automated test coverage with Playwright across frontend and backend components.
- Validate cloud infrastructure on AWS and help ensure dependable production operations.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and regulatory partners to support smooth, high-quality releases.
- Debug issues, trace root causes, and contribute to stronger product stability.
- Measure and improve quality using indicators such as defects per release and test coverage.
- Continuously refine and challenge the team’s testing approach and practices.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance.
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation, preferably with Playwright.
- Good programming ability in Python and/or TypeScript.
- Experience with testing tools or frameworks such as pytest or similar alternatives.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and Docker.
- Comfortable using Linux-based environments.
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of testing plans.
- Bonus: experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Bonus: exposure to medical software or regulated settings such as FDA or CE environments.
- Bonus: familiarity with performance or load testing.
- Bonus: basic knowledge of security testing.
