About the Role
Epiroc is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Purchasing Lead to oversee and enhance purchasing operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient acquisition of high-quality goods and services at optimal costs, thereby supporting overall business objectives. The position requires strict adherence to company policies and relevant local regulations, focusing on efficient, compliant, and strategic procurement practices.
Your Mission
- Oversee and coordinate all procurement activities for both core and non-core items, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services that meet quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage the full supplier lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and ongoing performance management, while tracking key procurement metrics and nurturing vendor relationships.
- Uphold procurement policies, internal controls, legal mandates, and vendor onboarding procedures, maintaining meticulous records and documentation.
- Act as a primary procurement advisor to internal departments, offering expert guidance on purchasing needs, strategic planning, and budget considerations.
- Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities, refining procurement processes, and contributing to the development of procurement strategies.
Your Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field.
- Hold a CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply or an equivalent qualification.
- Be a registered member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS).
- Have a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrate a strong track record in supplier management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiation.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of procurement principles, purchasing workflows, and inventory management techniques.
- Possess a good grasp of procurement compliance, internal control frameworks, and vendor onboarding protocols.
- Be proficient in using ERP systems and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Communicate effectively and manage relationships with various stakeholders.
