About the Role
The Intermediate Purchaser, reporting to the Procurement Manager, is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, tools, equipment, and services for projects and operational needs. This role ensures that necessary items are sourced effectively, considering risk profiles and aligning with company and project commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the ongoing development and standardization of procurement processes within Rising Edge Group.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members regarding internal procurement procedures and industry best practices.
- Assist in the creation of procurement plans by analyzing project schedules and risk registers for assigned projects.
- Review, audit, and maintain procurement activities, and actively participate in risk mitigation strategies for projects.
- Source all required materials and services in compliance with internal procedures and industry best practices to achieve favorable risk profiles, cost savings, and timely delivery.
- Identify, source, and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors based on risk assessment, project timelines, lead times, scope adherence, pricing, and prequalification status.
- Manage the full vendor lifecycle, from initial sourcing through to project close-out.
- Generate all necessary documentation in accordance with project specifications and company policies.
- Ensure all purchase orders and subcontract agreements contain complete information, relevant supporting documents, and adhere to the authority approval matrix and thresholds.
- Maintain precise procurement records within company systems, including Vista and SharePoint.
- Integrate identified commercial risks and prime contract stipulations into terms and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Participate in prime contract reviews, project kickoff meetings, and ongoing project discussions to thoroughly understand project requirements and legal obligations.
- Organize and lead weekly procurement meetings for all active projects.
- Engage in proactive communication with vendors to support the Procurement Manager in supplier relationship management initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive the implementation of efficiency strategies.
