Project Manager - Electrical

Role Overview

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Project Manager - Electrical in Doha, Qatar to oversee the full lifecycle of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substation projects within Oil & Gas environments. The role centers on planning, execution, coordination, commercial control, quality, and safety management across engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Project Planning and Delivery

You will be responsible for building detailed execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans, while steering substation projects from start to finish. Experience with Primavera P6 or MS Project is expected for scheduling and progress tracking.

Leadership and Stakeholder Coordination

This position requires leading cross-functional teams that may include engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors. You will coordinate with client teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders to secure approvals, share updates, and keep delivery on track.

Technical Execution

The role covers supervision of installation, testing, and commissioning for substation systems and equipment such as GIS/AIS, transformers, protection and control systems, switchgear, and SCADA. You will also review electrical designs, drawings, and technical specifications to confirm they meet project expectations.

Standards, Contracts, and Compliance

Compliance with Oil & Gas facility regulations, HSE requirements, and quality standards is essential. The position also demands adherence to IEC, IEEE, ANSI, and relevant Oil & Gas industry norms, along with active management of contract terms, claims, variations, and dispute resolution.

Commercial and Resource Management

You will monitor project cost performance, cash flow, invoicing, and overall profitability, while ensuring efficient use of manpower, materials, and equipment. The role also includes coordinating procurement of long-lead and critical items.

HSE and Quality Assurance

A key part of the job is putting strong HSE systems into practice in line with Oil & Gas safety expectations. You will also ensure QA/QC processes are followed throughout the project, including risk reviews, safety audits, and quality inspections.

Reporting and Project Close-Out

Regular reporting to senior management and clients will be required through progress reports, dashboards, and presentations. You will maintain complete engineering, construction, and commissioning records, and ensure final handover, close-out, and warranty commitments are properly completed.
