Bowers Design Build in McLean, Virginia is hiring an energetic Project Designer with strong residential product-selection experience. Responsibilities
- Develop full design concepts for residential jobs based on client goals and preferences.
- Prepare drawings and models using drafting and design software such as Revit and Chief Architect.
- Track project schedules with planning tools and keep work moving while protecting quality standards.
- Work with clients during proposal refinement so the design stays aligned with both their vision and budget.
- Attend weekly construction site visits with the team to review progress, address issues quickly, and confirm the work matches the design intent.
Requirements
- Strong experience in product selection is essential, including guiding clients through finishes such as plumbing fixtures, lighting, appliances, cabinets, paint, tile, and related items.
- Ability to document project plans and specifications clearly.
- Background in residential design-build work, supported by a portfolio that shows both creative thinking and technical skill.
- Working knowledge of Revit, Chief Architect, or comparable design software.
- Solid drafting ability with the capacity to create precise technical drawings and presentation materials.
- Good understanding of project development practices and strong communication skills for client-facing work.
- Comfort managing several projects at once while staying organized and detail-focused across long-planned milestones.
- Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience creating schematic designs and detailed construction drawings for interior spaces.
