Job description

About Ripjar

Ripjar was established by former GCHQ specialists with a mission to deliver intelligence-grade technology to the global fight against financial crime. Criminal proceeds enable trafficking, terrorism, corruption, and sanctions evasion, so the teams facing these threats need tools designed for the same level of seriousness.

Ripjar’s AI-led software and data fusion platforms support governments, major banks, and international businesses in automating the detection, investigation, and monitoring of serious financial crime. The platform is trusted every day by hundreds of customers and thousands of active users to screen hundreds of millions of names in real time, reduce money laundering risk, and help prevent terrorist financing.

This is a role where your work has real-world impact.

Work arrangement

The company operates as a remote-first organisation with its head office in Cheltenham. This opportunity is open to candidates anywhere in the UK. If you live near Cheltenham, you are welcome to use the office whenever you like.

The role

Ripjar is seeking an energetic, curious, and motivated Product Manager to join a fast-growing product function. You do not need to arrive as a finished expert across every area; strong product thinking, a willingness to learn, and the right attitude are valued highly. The role is intended to support your growth and broaden your career.

Product management here is broad and flexible, allowing you to build strength in the parts of the discipline that interest you most while still gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle. Depending on your interests, you may lean toward:

  • Technical delivery: partnering with engineers and architects to shape and deliver advanced systems.
  • Commercial and marketing: contributing to product direction, pricing ideas, and market positioning.
  • Operational implementation: improving how complex AI products are deployed and adopted by clients.

How you'll contribute

AI sits at the core of Ripjar’s work, and the company wants this person to bring original thinking, not just maintain an existing roadmap. You will help explore how next-generation AI tools and working methods can create meaningful impact for real-world problems.

If you are excited by the pace of artificial intelligence and want to apply it to practical, high-stakes challenges, this environment should suit you well.

Key responsibilities

  • Own important product features from initial idea through launch, working closely with UX, engineering, and QA.
  • Talk with customers and internal stakeholders to build a deep understanding of user needs and domain-specific challenges.
  • Operate as an Agile product owner by preparing user stories, contributing to team ceremonies, and supporting delivery progress.
  • Bring new ideas into product development, marketing thinking, and pricing approaches.

Requirements

The company is keeping the hiring bar focused on potential rather than a long list of formal credentials. They are looking for adaptability, commitment, and strong product instincts.

  • Some prior product experience, such as work as an Associate Product Manager, Product Analyst, or in a similar role within a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Exposure to B2B or SaaS products and an understanding of how enterprise software is developed and delivered.
  • Genuine interest in AI, along with curiosity about how it can be used to solve difficult problems.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions, listen well, and build trust with colleagues.
  • Experience or familiarity with financial services, compliance, or RegTech would be an advantage, though it is not essential.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, dependent on experience.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus your birthday off, increasing to 30 days after five years of service.
  • Christmas shutdown period.
  • Fully remote working.
  • 35-hour work week.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Private family healthcare.
  • Life assurance cover.
  • Pension salary sacrifice arrangement.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Employer pension contributions.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
  • Latest equipment, including a high-end MacBook Pro.
  • Access to a well-stocked pantry with food, snacks, and drinks when working from the office.
