Job description
Role overview
Bumble is looking for a Product Designer to join the Bumble Date Design team in New York. In this role, you will help shape how millions of people experience connection through the company’s flagship dating product. The focus is on creating experiences that feel safe, uplifting, easy to use, and genuinely human.
You will partner closely with product managers, engineers, user researchers, and other designers to develop experiences that support meaningful relationships with confidence. The team places strong value on collaboration, craft, continuous learning, and thoughtful use of AI to speed up exploration while keeping people’s needs at the centre.
What you will do
You will own end-to-end product design work, from early ideas through final implementation, and help define customer journeys, interactions, and visual execution.
- Create full user experiences, including journey mapping, interaction design, and visual design from concept to delivery.
- Turn product direction, customer insight, and research findings into clear interaction models, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Work side by side with research, product, and engineering teams during discovery, synthesis, design iteration, and delivery.
- Design with intention by considering usability, emotional impact, behaviour, and communication in every solution.
- Contribute to shared UX patterns and design system components that improve consistency and quality across the product.
- Use AI tools responsibly to support ideation, prototyping, and personalised experiences.
- Clearly explain and defend design decisions by linking them to user needs, product goals, and Bumble’s values.
- Respond to feedback with openness, keep iterating, and bring a growth mindset to the design process.
- Represent Bumble’s values of Respect, Curiosity, and Joy in how you work and collaborate.
What we are looking for
The role generally calls for at least 3 years of experience, although candidates with different backgrounds but comparable skills are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong visual and interaction design ability, with work that is refined, thoughtful, and craft-led.
- Developing product-thinking skills and the habit of asking why before jumping into execution.
- Comfort working in cross-functional teams with clear communication and collaborative working habits.
- Confidence using Figma and modern prototyping tools, plus openness to new techniques and technologies.
- A strong commitment to inclusive design and accessibility as core design principles.
- A sense of ownership, including follow-through, proactive communication, and accountability.
- Alignment with Bumble’s values of Joy, Courage, and Curiosity, using design to encourage empathy and connection.
About Bumble

AI expectations
Bumble values curiosity and experimentation with AI, especially when it can improve impact and outcomes. Applicants are encouraged to use AI responsibly while preparing their application, but not to invent experience or rely on AI during live interviews. The company wants to understand your genuine skills, judgment, and voice.
Compensation
Final pay will be set using factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, skill set, and other job-related considerations.
Benefits and perks
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with eligibility after 30 days; coverage becomes available on the first day of the month after hire.
- Unlimited paid time off, plus one company-wide week off and Focus Fridays every week.

Inclusion and hiring practices
Bumble Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants of all ages, races and ethnicities, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and non-binary people, veterans, parents, people with disabilities, and neurodivergent people. Reasonable adjustments can be provided during the hiring process. Applicants may also share the pronouns they use if they wish.
The company may use AI tools during recruitment to assist with transcription, summarisation, and job alignment, but people make all hiring decisions. Participation in AI-supported interviews is voluntary, and candidates may opt out at any time by informing the recruiter or interviewer. Transcripts and summaries are kept only as long as needed under internal retention policies, and deletion requests can be raised with the recruiter. For details on data handling, the company refers candidates to its Privacy Policy.
Candidate profile
Kind, curious, and low-ego designers are especially well suited to this team. If you want to help shape how people build relationships and find belonging, this role may be a strong fit.
