Job description

Role overview

BSI is hiring a Product Certification Auditor to support product compliance and certification work across Ireland and Northern Ireland. This field-based role involves assessing manufacturing environments, checking conformity against certification schemes and Kitemark requirements, and contributing to the delivery of trusted product standards. The position sits within a global organisation celebrating 125 years of standards leadership and certification expertise.

The successful candidate will handle product assessment audits across structural steel under EN 1090, concrete, aggregates, and construction products covered by CPR-related schemes. Applicants with direct auditing experience are welcome, and so are professionals with relevant exposure to standards compliance in these manufacturing areas.

Key duties

  • Carry out product certification assessments in varied settings and make sure findings are clearly communicated to clients.
  • Prepare assessment reports, explain decisions, and identify corrective actions where needed.
  • Recommend certificate issue, renewal, or withdrawal in line with BSI policies, procedures, and timelines.
  • Take responsibility for assigned client accounts and maintain strong service delivery and account development.
  • Lead assessment teams when required and ensure everyone is properly briefed to maintain service quality and working relationships.
  • Share accurate information with support teams so client records and internal documentation remain complete and current.
  • Coach colleagues, including new or less experienced assessors, and support induction where requested.
  • Plan and organise workloads to use time effectively and maximise revenue-generating activity.
  • Undertake the required onboarding pathway to progress toward Lead Assessor status.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed for standardised assessments and audit practice.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients based on location, qualifications, and contract requirements.
  • Contact clients, schedule visits, arrange travel, conduct assessments, and manage results efficiently.

Candidate profile

  • At least 4 years of industry experience in a product manufacturing environment, especially in quality management or product certification.
  • An engineering- or manufacturing-related qualification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in product assessment or auditing against standards.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
  • Working knowledge of quality management system auditing, including ISO 9001.
  • Lead Auditor 9001 qualification would be a strong advantage.

Additional information

This is a field-based role that requires extensive travel, with possible coverage across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United Kingdom. The salary is described as a competitive basic salary dependent on experience, along with a company car and bonus.
