Job description
Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to oversee purchasing activities and cultivate supplier relationships. This position involves sourcing goods and services, negotiating agreements, and ensuring punctual delivery while upholding cost-effectiveness and quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess potential suppliers based on their pricing, quality standards, and delivery capacities.
- Engage in negotiations for pricing, contractual terms, and agreements with vendors.
- Manage the processing of purchase orders and guarantee the timely acquisition of necessary goods and services.
- Foster and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, addressing and resolving any arising issues.
- Oversee inventory levels and collaborate with internal departments to anticipate future requirements.
- Ensure adherence to the company's established procurement policies and operational procedures.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators for procurement, including cost savings achieved and supplier performance metrics.
- Conduct thorough market research to discover new suppliers and stay informed about industry trends.
- Coordinate with finance and operations departments to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Possess strong negotiation capabilities and effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
- Previous experience utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or other procurement software is necessary.
- Excellent organizational abilities and adeptness in time management are essential.
- Capacity to work autonomously and effectively manage a variety of competing priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with strategic sourcing methodologies and comprehensive vendor management practices.
- Prior experience in managing contractual agreements.
- Understanding of cost analysis techniques and budget management principles.
- Professional certification in procurement, such as CPSM or CIPS, would be advantageous.
