Role overview

iNet Africa is looking for a proactive, meticulous, and well-organized Procurement Agent to support the organization’s sourcing and purchasing activities. In this position, you will help acquire goods and services, coordinate interactions with suppliers, process purchase requests, ensure procurement rules are followed, and help keep day-to-day operations supplied on time.

The role calls for strong negotiation ability, sharp attention to detail, and the capacity to stay effective in a busy, fast-moving work environment while upholding integrity and accountability.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive procurement requests from departments, review them carefully, and move them through the process.
  • Request quotations from suppliers and compare prices to secure the most cost-effective option for the company.
  • Draft purchase orders and confirm that all necessary approvals are obtained before any procurement action is completed.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure goods and services are delivered within the expected timelines.
  • Track pending orders and address any issues that delay or affect delivery.
  • Keep procurement records, supplier information, and tracking tools accurate and up to date.
  • Check supplier invoices and supporting documents before sending them for payment processing.
  • Assist with supplier assessments and ongoing performance reviews.
  • Make sure procurement activities align with company policies, internal procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Help negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service arrangements that are favorable to the company.
  • Take part in stock counts and procurement audits when required.
  • Prepare procurement updates and reports on outstanding or pending purchasing activities.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned to support operational needs.

Requirements

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
  • Professional membership with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) is an added advantage.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, or a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of procurement workflows and supplier relationship management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
  • Exposure to ERP platforms or procurement software will be considered a plus.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic organization.
  • Collaborative, performance-focused workplace culture.
  • Room for professional development and career growth.
  • Lunch provided by the company on working days.
