Principal Process Engineer

Role overview

The Principal Process Engineer will own and coordinate process engineering work independently across the Development Project Study stages, specifically Concept Select and Pre-FEED. The role involves checking design outputs produced by contractors or completed internally, identifying constraints across offshore and onshore processing assets, and evaluating how debottlenecking measures may affect production.

This position also requires hands-on process simulation work and active collaboration with discipline leads, peers, and contributors from different parts of the development project organization. The engineer is expected to scrutinize inputs, encourage stronger technical solutions, and support the use of innovative methods.

Experience and technical profile

Candidates should bring at least 15 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, with a strong background in conceptual engineering during the early phases of development studies such as Select and Pre-FEED. Practical knowledge of process simulation, equipment sizing, PFDs/PEFS, steady-state and transient flow analysis, control narratives, and cause-and-effect documentation is required.

The role also calls for recognized capability in process engineering leadership, strong interpersonal skills for working across a matrixed technical organization, and familiarity with company business procedures and regulatory expectations, including experience handling deviation processes.

Education

A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering is required. A master’s degree is preferred.
