Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Pool Technician to join our team at Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. The role involves ensuring the optimal condition and safety of our swimming pool facilities. Key responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining water quality, operating and maintaining pool equipment, performing regular cleaning, and adhering to all health, safety, and hotel standards. You will conduct water testing, adjust chemical levels, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform preventive maintenance. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance activities and water quality tests is essential. You will also ensure compliance with local regulations and hotel procedures, handle chemicals safely, and maintain a safe working environment. Promptly responding to emergencies and guest requests related to the pool is crucial. This role also supports the hotel's sustainability goals by minimizing waste and requires effective coordination with other departments to ensure facilities are always guest-ready. Maintaining a professional demeanor with guests and colleagues is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A technical certification in pool maintenance or water treatment is advantageous.
• A minimum of two years of experience in swimming pool maintenance, ideally within a luxury hotel or resort setting.
• Proficiency in understanding pool filtration systems, pumps, chemical dosing, and water treatment methodologies.
• Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations for swimming pools.
• Basic skills in plumbing and mechanical maintenance.
• Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
