Role overview

Thirteen Group is hiring a Plumber to join its Empty Homes team on a permanent contract in Middlesbrough. The role focuses on restoring vacant properties so they are brought back up to a high standard and can be re-let to new residents. This position offers the chance to make a visible difference to local communities.

You will be supplied with a company van, fuel card, tools, and any PPE needed for the job.

Pay and benefits

• Annual salary of £36,956.
• Access to overtime rota work paid at time and a half, plus callout responsibilities.
• Starting annual leave of 28 days, increasing to 31 days after three years, along with bank holidays and an extra day off for your birthday.

What you will do

• Complete plumbing repairs and improvement work, aiming to resolve issues properly the first time and help homes become ready for new customers quickly.
• Maintain high standards across the homes you work on.
• Follow work allocated by planners, allowing you to focus on carrying out repairs to a strong standard and achieving right-first-time results wherever possible.
• Work mainly across Tees Valley, including Hartlepool, Stockton, and Middlesbrough, with some travel outside this area when required.
• Take part in the TradePlus scheme and develop a broader range of trade skills to improve efficiency and customer service.

What you need

• Hands-on experience as a plumber and an NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing.
• Ability to carry out general semi-skilled work and support other trades when needed.
• A valid UK driving licence.
• Confidence using digital or handheld devices, or a willingness to learn, as work is assigned and recorded through mobile technology.
• A strong approach to safe working and good knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• The employer has stated a particular interest in hearing from female applicants.

Working pattern and process

This role follows a fixed shift pattern of 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Wednesday.

During the interview process, candidates may be asked to complete a trade test. The employer has also asked that recruitment agencies do not contact them.
