Job description

Role overview

An established and ambitious construction business in North Dublin is looking for a skilled Planner to support the coordination and organisation of multiple projects. This opportunity is suited to someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment focused on strong partnerships, practical innovation, and high-quality delivery.

What you will do

In this position, you will oversee the planning side of construction projects, keeping programmes on track and making sure labour, materials, and other resources are coordinated effectively. You will work closely with project teams to support smooth execution from start to finish.

  • Create, update, and manage detailed project schedules to help ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Work alongside project managers, architects, engineers, and site personnel to keep programme plans aligned with project goals and client requirements.
  • Track progress against plan, spot risks or delays early, and put corrective measures in place when needed.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure the timely supply of materials, labour, and other resources.
  • Visit sites regularly to review progress and revise schedules based on actual conditions.
  • Produce and share progress updates that clearly cover milestones, risks, and opportunities.
  • Examine drawings, specifications, and other project documents to identify clashes or programme risks before they affect delivery.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s qualification in a construction-related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, or a similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of P6, Asta Powerproject, and Microsoft Project.
  • Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management and NEC contracts.
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different disciplines.
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to handle several priorities at once.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting demanding deadlines.

Compensation and benefits

The package includes a competitive base salary, along with pension and life assurance, healthcare cover, and a car allowance.
