BAM UK & Ireland is hiring a Planner to support its building operations in Carlow, County Carlow. The role sits within a team focused on delivering construction and civil engineering work that contributes to a more sustainable future.

Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain project plans using Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta.
- Track progress on site and monitor how work is advancing against the programme.
- Prepare progress updates and status reports.
- Work closely with site managers, designers, and contractors to keep schedules aligned.
- Manage and protect the contract programme throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor subcontractor progress and performance.
- Develop and review KPI tracking.
- Take off quantities from drawings to support reporting.
- Support the integration of schedules into BIM models for 4D planning.
- Offer strategic input that helps protect project outcomes and supports growth and development.
- Contribute as a flexible team member and take on work as needed.
What the employer is looking for
- A relevant degree or diploma in engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience in planning.
- Background in planning within the building construction sector, ideally with main contractor exposure.
- Strong grasp of construction methods, sequencing, and lead times.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle multi-disciplinary building projects.
- Technical knowledge of drawings, specifications, BOQs, critical path programming, and network analysis.
- Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an integrated team.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational ability.
- Proactive, practical, and solutions-oriented approach.
- Full driving licence.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland and fluency in English.
