Job description

Role overview

Blue Drop Studio is hiring a part-time Performance Creative Strategist to work remotely. The role is set at 3 days per week at the moment, with room to expand as the agency grows. Compensation is up to £50,000 per year on a pro-rated basis, depending on experience.

This position is suited to someone who enjoys uncovering what motivates customers to buy and translating those insights into high-performing ad concepts. You will support independent e-commerce brands across sectors such as jewellery, apparel and fashion, fitness, pet, beauty, cosmetics, entertainment, homeware, and lifestyle.

You’ll work closely with media buyers, designers, and video editors to shape creative direction and build ad ideas that help clients grow.

About the company

Blue Drop Studio is a small agency focused on independent e-commerce brands, with a strong emphasis on paid social advertising and high-quality creative. The team believes creative is the main growth lever in paid media and wants to hire people who share that approach.

The role is being introduced during an important stage in the agency’s development. There is potential for this position to evolve into a more senior, full-time opportunity over time.

What you will do

  • Create creative strategies for Meta campaigns across several e-commerce brands.
  • Research customers, competitors, and market trends to identify insights and new opportunities.
  • Develop testing roadmaps built around angles, hooks, formats, and buyer psychology.
  • Plan and script UGC campaign ideas.
  • Prepare detailed creative briefs for designers and video editors.
  • Write hooks, ad copy, scripts, and messaging frameworks for paid social campaigns.
  • Review creative performance data to determine what is working, what is not, and what should be tested next.
  • Partner with media buyers so that creative direction and account strategy support each other.
  • Stay current on trends across Meta, TikTok, and the wider DTC space.
  • Use tools such as Foreplay, Motion, ChatGPT, and other AI tools to improve research, ideation, and workflow.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with colleagues and clients.

What the employer is looking for

  • A strong interest in advertising, consumer psychology, and creative strategy.
  • Genuine motivation to work with independent brands and contribute directly to growth.
  • An understanding that results matter more than personal taste.
  • Awareness of current paid social trends and what performs well on Meta and TikTok.
  • Excellent copywriting ability for hooks, scripts, and ad copy.
  • Solid strategic thinking and the ability to turn customer insights into creative concepts.
  • Comfort working with performance data and using it to guide decisions.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage several brands and projects at once.
  • Enjoyment of collaboration with designers, editors, and media buyers.
  • A curious, open mindset and a willingness to test, learn, and improve continuously.

Preferred background

  • At least 2 years of experience in Creative Strategy, Performance Creative, or Paid Social.
  • Experience supporting DTC or e-commerce brands.
  • Good understanding of Meta Ads and social-first creative.
  • Hands-on experience with Foreplay, Motion, and AI-based tools.
  • Familiarity with awareness stages, objections, and direct-response copywriting.
  • Interest in experimentation and improving performance through testing.

Remote working expectations

  • The role is fully remote.
  • You should have a dependable internet connection that supports video calls.
  • The team works to UK office hours, though flexibility can be discussed.
  • Strong English communication skills are required.
  • You need to be self-managed, disciplined, and able to manage your time well.

Application materials

Applicants should include a CV, a brief note explaining their interest in the role, and examples of campaigns, creative briefs, ads, or related work that show their approach to performance creative.

Additional notes

This role may grow into a more senior full-time position as the agency expands. The team values native, authentic creative and prefers ideas that deliver results over ideas that simply look polished.
