Job description
About the role
This position is focused on keeping packaging plant equipment running efficiently so production stays available, product quality remains consistent, and operating costs are controlled. The role also supports continuous improvement across machines, processes, and related systems.
Core responsibilities
- Keep plant equipment and related devices maintained, repaired, and optimized so production can continue safely, reliably, and at the right quality level with minimal cost.
- Identify where equipment, spare parts, and supporting documents or systems are located when needed.
- Perform corrective repairs, scheduled maintenance, and major maintenance activities as required.
- Look for opportunities to improve plant performance, process equipment, and operational systems.
- Run and oversee plant and process equipment during operations.
- Spot existing or possible issues through walkabouts and routine maintenance checks.
- Safely operate packaging machinery while monitoring and controlling the process to achieve consistent output, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Start up and shut down machines correctly.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks and complete the necessary records and documentation.
- Ensure machinery remains in proper working condition.
- Support a safe and healthy workplace at all times.
- Apply VPO principles and practices in daily work.
- Keep the workstation organized and in line with 5S standards.
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required at minimum.
- At least 2 to 3 months of on-the-job training is expected, with 3 to 6 months considered ideal.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
- Good communication skills are important for this role.
- Must be comfortable working as part of a team.
