Job description
Role Overview
This role sits at the centre of building the Defence Executive Officer (DXO) talent pipeline for MINDEF/SAF. You will help design and execute recruitment approaches that bring in suitable candidates, while working closely with internal teams and outside partners to understand hiring needs and the broader talent market. A key part of the job is balancing what candidates want from their careers with what the organisation needs, so the best possible match is achieved for both sides.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with hiring managers to clarify role requirements and recommend the most effective hiring approach for each vacancy.
- Identify and reach out to potential candidates through multiple channels such as job portals, career fairs, and professional networks to maintain a healthy talent pipeline.
- Represent MINDEF/SAF at career fairs and outreach events with universities and other institutions to support employer branding.
- Analyse recruitment data and metrics to spot patterns, improve hiring methods, and create a smoother experience for both hiring managers and applicants.
- Keep recruitment documentation accurate and make sure all processes comply with internal governance and audit standards.
- Look into and adopt emerging tools, including AI-based solutions, to make recruitment work more efficient.

- Need to meet internal approval and compliance requirements while still providing a quick and positive experience for candidates and hiring managers.
- Handling different priorities and expectations from multiple stakeholders within demanding timelines.

- Academic background in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Studies, or Psychology.
- Strong interest in working with people and helping connect the right talent to the right role.
- Ability to analyse situations carefully and systematically, with attention to improving recruitment processes.
- Self-motivated and open to learning, with curiosity to try new tools and technologies that improve effectiveness.
