Role Overview

This position focuses on keeping plant electrical and utility systems running safely and reliably. The engineer will handle high- and low-voltage maintenance, transformer upkeep, DG set operations, switchgear service, CNC machine troubleshooting, and support for critical utilities across the manufacturing setup in Vadodara.

Key Responsibilities

• Run and maintain 11 kV high-tension electrical systems, along with low-tension distribution networks.
• Take care of transformers, PCC, MCC, APFC panels, and the wider electrical distribution infrastructure.
• Track system performance, identify faults, and carry out corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Perform safe shutdown, isolation, switching, and restoration of electrical equipment during maintenance work.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance as well as emergency breakdown repairs for electrical installations.
• Operate and maintain distribution transformers, including checks on oil level, temperature, protection devices, and electrical condition.
• Diagnose transformer issues and coordinate testing and servicing activities when needed.
• Monitor and service standby DG sets, including AMF panel functioning.
• Maintain DG control panels, batteries, alternators, and related auxiliaries to ensure backup power readiness.
• Maintain and troubleshoot switchgear such as VCBs, ACBs, MCCBs, MCBs, protective relays, and panel systems.
• Inspect, test, and service breaker and relay systems on a routine basis.
• Support CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting, including preventive and breakdown work.
• Work with CNC controls such as Siemens Sinumerik and Fanuc systems.
• Handle fault diagnosis for PLCs, HMIs, servo motors, servo drives, control panels, and electrical circuits.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, PLC logic, ladder diagrams, and machine schematics.
• Investigate failures and analyze breakdowns to bring down machine stoppage time.
• Maintain utility equipment such as RO plant electrical systems, HVAC/air-conditioning units, cooling towers, plate heat exchangers, engine water circulation pumps, motors, pumps, and their control panels.
• Ensure smooth, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of plant utility equipment.

Requirements

• A B.E. or Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Applicants should have 25 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on knowledge of HT/LT systems, transformers, DG sets, switchgear, CNC machines, and utility equipment is expected.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, control, and automation-related problems in plant equipment.
• Comfort with reading electrical drawings, PLC logic, ladder diagrams, and machine schematics.
