About Greenstone Mine
The Greenstone Mine, commencing production in May 2024, is poised to become one of Canada's largest open-pit gold mines. It is projected to yield approximately 400,000 ounces of gold annually for an initial 14-year period, with further potential from an extensive underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP, owned by Equinox Gold Corp, operates four mines across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
About the Role
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Lodge Coordinator will act as the central point of communication between the lodge operator and Greenstone Mine. This position is crucial for ensuring that lodge service contracts are executed efficiently and effectively, maintaining superior service standards and an excellent overall guest experience. The role operates on a 4 days on / 3 days off schedule based in Geraldton, Ontario.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee lodge contract performance, including monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing processes to ensure high-quality guest experiences that meet operational needs and stakeholder expectations.
- Cultivate and maintain robust professional relationships with contractor representatives and lodge staff.
- Serve as the primary contact for all lodge-related issues, ensuring prompt resolution of any concerns.
- Manage the provision and performance of essential lodge services, encompassing catering, housekeeping, maintenance, power, sewage, waste management, and snow removal.
- Collaborate with various internal departments and external contractors to address operational requirements and drive improvements.
- Compile and submit comprehensive weekly and monthly reports, integrating data from multiple sources.
- Report on any health, safety, and environmental incidents or concerns as required.
- Supervise the Site Access team, managing travel coordination, accommodation arrangements, and employee orientations.
- Review and process invoices in compliance with contract terms; assist with budget tracking and cost control measures.
- Conduct regular audits of rooms, kitchen facilities, and common areas to verify adherence to contractual standards.
- Administer and oversee contracts with transportation and accommodation providers.
- Act as the main liaison with the external travel agency to arrange employee travel, resolve scheduling conflicts, and ensure efficient transportation logistics.
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated expertise in contract management and execution.
- Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and cleaning protocols.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and data management systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience managing remote mining camp operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, safety compliance, and high standards for accommodation, catering, and facility upkeep.
Experience, Qualifications & Education
- A high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or a comparable combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a remote lodge or comparable operational setting.
- Prior experience with travel and accommodation logistics is advantageous.
- Previous experience within the mining industry is considered a plus.
