Job description

Position Overview

This role is for a laborer with a basic grasp of construction work and comfort using hand tools and working with their hands on active job sites.

Key Duties

  • Dig trenches by hand and restore them with backfill.
  • Use hands, tools, and equipment to help identify underground utilities and related infrastructure.
  • Support the pulling and pushing of conduit and cable.
  • Operate, after training, tools and equipment such as tampers, jackhammers, drills, and saws.
  • Drive pickup trucks and one-ton vehicles to and from work locations.
  • Move, carry, and load materials needed for the job.
  • Comply with all company safety rules and work practices.
  • Clean vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform light repairs and basic upkeep on tools and equipment.
  • Complete required safety training.
  • Handle filing and other paperwork-related tasks as needed.
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must hold a current DOT health card.
  • Preferred: Class A driver’s license (CDL).

Physical Requirements

  • Good physical condition is necessary to handle the daily demands of the role.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds is required.
