Job description

About the role

Acclime is an international professional services group that helps businesses with compliance, company secretarial, accounting and bookkeeping work. The firm partners with clients as they expand into new markets, supporting them as they adjust to different business environments.

This opening is for a Junior R&D Consultant to join the R&D tax team. It is well suited to someone with up to 2 years of experience in the R&D area who wants to grow their expertise in a role that is mentally challenging and development-focused. The position is available across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, with remote working possible for candidates based elsewhere.

What you'll do

  • Work directly with clients to resolve questions about whether R&D activities qualify.
  • Prepare written summary reports outlining clients’ planned R&D work, including technical explanations for internal review.
  • Carry out recurring checks of clients’ R&D activities and spending.
  • Create formal applications for submission to the Department of Industry (AusIndustry).
  • Communicate with AusIndustry and the Australian Taxation Office when needed.

What we're looking for

  • A tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, law, Engineering, IT, Life Sciences or Mathematics.
  • Prior experience preparing R&D Tax Incentive paperwork and applications.
  • Strong computer skills, with solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Clear communication skills, careful attention to detail, a reliable work style and a confident, positive attitude.
  • Good organisational ability and the capacity to handle several priorities at once.
  • The ability to think creatively and come up with practical, innovative solutions.
  • Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to deepen early-career experience by working with an established client base that can accelerate professional growth.
  • A broad, hands-on position spanning multiple industries.
  • A supportive and flexible workplace that values teamwork and ongoing learning.
  • Perks including Birthday Leave and Acclime Wellness Day Leave.
  • Access to career progression within a global organisation.

Additional information

This role is designed for candidates with up to 2 years of relevant R&D experience. It is open to applicants across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, and remote work is available for those located outside these cities.
