Role Overview

This position supports the expansion, administration, and performance of a cybersecurity product range across the East African market. The Junior Product Manager will connect vendors, sales teams, technical consultants, channel partners, and customers to help position products effectively, encourage adoption, and contribute to revenue growth.

The role suits someone who combines commercial thinking with an interest in technology, cybersecurity, and managing products through their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Product portfolio ownership

  • Support day-to-day management of the assigned cybersecurity product portfolio and relationships with vendors.
  • Assist with lifecycle activities such as new product introductions, product improvements, and end-of-life planning.
  • Keep product documentation, pricing details, and competitive positioning materials up to date.
  • Review product performance and suggest ways to strengthen market reach and adoption.

Vendor coordination

  • Serve as a contact person for assigned technology vendors.
  • Organize vendor meetings, training sessions, and business review discussions.
  • Help with vendor certification, accreditation, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Monitor vendor initiatives, incentive programs, and marketing activity.

Sales support and enablement

  • Partner with sales and pre-sales teams to build product awareness and drive adoption.
  • Support the creation of presentations, proposals, positioning documents, and other customer-facing materials.
  • Provide product information, competitor insights, and solution guidance to sales teams.
  • Join customer meetings and product demos when needed.

Research and market analysis

  • Carry out market research to understand new cybersecurity trends, customer needs, and competitor moves.
  • Assess market opportunities and share insights that support growth plans.
  • Track industry changes and recommend additions or upgrades to the product portfolio.

Planning and reporting

  • Assist with forecasting, pipeline monitoring, and revenue reporting.
  • Prepare performance reports and business updates for management and vendors.
  • Contribute to go-to-market planning and broader business strategy development.

Partner and customer engagement

  • Develop productive relationships with channel partners and customers.
  • Support partner onboarding, training, and enablement activities.
  • Collect customer feedback and relay market needs to vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in product management, product marketing, business development, vendor management, or technology sales.
  • Background in cybersecurity, networking, cloud, or IT infrastructure solutions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and market trends will be an added advantage.

Required Skills

  • Commercial mindset and solid business judgment.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
  • Well-developed organizational and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working familiarity with CRM and reporting tools is an advantage.
