Job description

Role overview

Dynamis, Inc. is hiring a Junior Criminal Analyst in Washington, DC to support a high-visibility Homeland Security Investigations worksite enforcement mission. In this position, you will work directly with HSI special agents to review employment eligibility documents, business records, and government data sources that help drive enforcement investigations related to U.S. workforce integrity.

The role is hands-on, detail-sensitive, and fast-moving. The analysis you produce will help support Notices of Inspection, Notices of Intent to Fine, and other enforcement actions authorized through the investigative process. This is also a strong entry-level opportunity to gain exposure to federal law enforcement work, receive mentorship from experienced investigators, and build a path toward more advanced compliance and investigative responsibilities.

What you'll do

  • Review employer I-9 forms, payroll records, corporate filings, and related employment paperwork to identify compliance issues and possible violations of federal immigration employment rules.
  • Search and compare information across law enforcement and commercial databases to uncover inconsistencies, trends, and other investigative leads.
  • Prepare accurate case summaries, analytical write-ups, and findings that can stand up to review and directly support worksite enforcement activity.
  • Support coordination efforts with national and international investigative programs, initiatives, and partner organizations.
  • Maintain detailed and orderly case records while following DHS/ICE privacy and data-handling requirements.
  • Create briefing materials and analytical support documents for site visits, enforcement actions, and senior leadership meetings.

What we're looking for

  • A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, business administration, public administration, law, or a closely related discipline.
  • One to two years of relevant experience in compliance, investigations, legal support, immigration services, or a similar area.
  • Strong analytical and research ability, with the capacity to review and consolidate large amounts of information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing reports and coordinating with federal law enforcement staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume data entry accurately and convert paper records into electronic format.
  • Experience running queries in law enforcement and commercial database systems for reporting and investigative support.
  • Ability to obtain and keep an ICE suitability determination.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred background

  • Prior experience with federal law enforcement or regulatory agencies.
  • Familiarity with Form I-9 compliance and E-Verify requirements.
  • Exposure to HSI, ICE, or other Department of Homeland Security operations.
  • Experience working with sensitive or law-enforcement-controlled information.
  • Comfort using government databases or investigative case management tools.

Growth and mission context

This position offers an entry point into federal investigative work with close mentorship and opportunities to grow into more advanced compliance and investigative roles.
