Junior Application Support Engineer

Role overview

We are hiring a Junior Application Support Engineer with roughly 2 years or more of experience in production or application support. The role requires practical working knowledge of Shell scripting, Bash, or Python, along with the ability to support business-critical systems in a live environment.

What you will do

• Deliver everyday support for applications and production systems that are essential to business operations.
• Track application health, investigate production incidents, and drive fixes through to completion in a timely manner.
• Review logs, determine the underlying cause of issues, and work closely with development and infrastructure teams to resolve them.
• Create, update, and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Bash, or Python.
• Handle incident response, problem tracking, and other support-related tasks.
• Oversee batch jobs, carry out server checks, and assist with deployment-related support.
• Work in Linux/Unix environments and perform basic command-line tasks.
• Draft root cause analysis reports and keep support documentation up to date.
• Take part in shift-based support and on-call duties whenever needed.

Required skills and knowledge

• Solid background in application or production support.
• Working knowledge of scripting in Shell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience using Linux or Unix systems.
• Basic understanding of SQL and log troubleshooting.
