Role overview

We are seeking a journalist for a remote hourly contract assignment based in Latin America. This position is structured for a workload of 10 to 40 hours per week.

What you'll do

• Investigate ideas, pitch timely angles, and produce original news coverage and feature pieces.
• Carry out interviews and confirm facts through trustworthy sources.
• Create content that is sharp, accurate, and engaging for a broad readership.
• Review, revise, and proofread material to maintain consistency and quality.
• Work closely with editors and teammates to strengthen the overall storytelling.
• Keep track of news, developments, and trends connected to assigned subjects.
• Follow journalistic standards, with a strong focus on ethics, accuracy, and integrity.

What we're looking for

• Substantial journalism experience, supported by a portfolio of published work.
• Strong command of written and spoken communication.
• Well-developed research, interviewing, and fact-verification skills.
• Ability to work on your own and deliver within strict deadlines.
• Good judgment, analytical thinking, and close attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of media law, editorial practice, and journalistic ethics.
• Comfort using digital tools for writing, publishing, and collaboration.

Additional details

This is an hourly contract role. The application flow includes a resume review followed by an interview stage. The role is remote and open to candidates in Latin America.
