Java Spring Boot Developer Internship

About the Internship

The selected intern will engage in backend development using Java and Spring Boot frameworks. The role involves designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working extensively with microservices architecture coupled with backend application structures. Responsibilities also include drafting and optimizing SQL queries interfacing with PostgreSQL or equivalent databases and gaining operational familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Google Pub/Sub.

Key tasks will encompass implementing best practices like validation, exception management, logging, and error handling. The intern will also apply core programming principles including OOP, multithreading, Java Collections, and established design patterns. Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito forms a vital part of ensuring codebase quality and reliability.

The role demands active participation in debugging to enhance application performance, leveraging source control with Git, build management via Maven, and exposure to CI/CD methodologies. Included is hands-on experience with containerization through Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes, alongside work with cloud platform technologies. Agile methodologies and technical discussion forums are integral to daily activities.

Qualifications and Eligibility

This internship suits candidates pursuing or having completed Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar fields. Applicants must exhibit strong fundamentals in Java programming and relevant project experience—academic, personal, or open-source. Effective analytical thinking and communication skills are essential.

Only candidates available for a full-time, in-office internship starting between September 23, 2026, and October 28, 2026, with a commitment of 6 months can apply. Proficiency in required technologies and enthusiasm for backend development are prerequisites.

Skill Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Core Java including Java 8+ features
• Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming concepts, design patterns, Collections, multithreading, Streams, and Lambda expressions
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and foundational microservices principles
• Working understanding of SQL and database concepts, particularly PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with development tools such as Git, Maven, JUnit, and Mockito
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities complemented by debugging experience

Preferred Skills: Exposure to Kafka, RabbitMQ, Google Pub/Sub, Redis, NoSQL systems, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, continuous integration/delivery pipelines, cloud computing platforms, Spring Security, JWT, authentication/authorization systems, gRPC, CQRS, or distributed system architecture.

Technical Assessment

• Core Java and OOP principles including Collections, Streams, and concurrency
• Database queries and schema design, Spring Boot framework and microservices API development
• Practical coding exercises focusing on backend debugging, problem-solving, and system design fundamentals

Stipend and Benefits
