Janitor

Overview

SSC Services for Education is hiring Janitors for both full-time and part-time schedules in Rogers, Arkansas. This role supports clean, safe, and distraction-free learning spaces for students in school facilities. Openings may also be available at other locations within the school district.

Schedule

Work options include full-time and part-time shifts, with days that may vary. The usual shift window is 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and additional schedule details will be shared during the interview. The role is designed to offer flexibility for many scheduling needs.

Job Summary

The Janitor is responsible for keeping buildings neat, sanitary, and orderly. The work includes routine and heavy cleaning tasks such as floor care, carpet shampooing, wall and glass cleaning, and trash removal.

Responsibilities

• Remove and dispose of waste in line with approved procedures and infection control standards.
• Dust surfaces and mop floors using the required process.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed to clean properly, then return items to their original place.
• Clean assigned areas using the supplied tools and materials, and sanitize surfaces as required.
• Follow the eight-step cleaning process.
• Clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to help maintain a safe and orderly environment.
• Identify spaces that need attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks.
• Complete duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Work according to all applicable federal, state, and county rules and guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets when required.
• Work cooperatively with the team and maintain a professional approach with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Carry out any other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Previous janitorial experience is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
• Ability to perform heavy cleaning duties and follow cleaning procedures.
• Willingness to work flexible full-time or part-time schedules.
• Ability to comply with safety, sanitation, and infection control requirements.
