Role overview

Based in Frankfurt, this position supports the local IT environment for BBVA Germany. The specialist will act as the first point of contact for technical support, oversee workplace incidents, coordinate with local suppliers, and manage equipment inventory. The role works closely with the head office IT teams in Madrid and plays an important part in keeping systems stable, enabling hybrid work, and supporting local finance-related tools such as BAIS and DATEV.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical assistance to the local branch in coordination with the head office IT teams.
  • Handle internal user incidents with a focus on fast turnaround and strong service standards.
  • Work with external providers and local vendors to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Keep the technical section of the business continuity plan updated.
  • Track, maintain, and manage local IT assets and inventory.
  • Support improvements to internal systems, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Deliver practical support for the Microsoft workplace environment, including Windows 11 and MS Office.
  • Assist with telework setups, remote access tools, and third-party applications.
  • Resolve first-line issues related to basic networking and connectivity.
  • Support Windows 11 operating systems and desktop productivity tools.
  • Provide assistance for MS Office and Google Workspace environments.
  • Support telephony, mobile device management, and mobile phone systems.
  • Troubleshoot Android and iOS devices.
  • Handle support for desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, and other office peripherals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of experience in customer support within an IT support setting, ideally in financial services.
  • A technical background in computer systems or a recognized IT qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong understanding of information technology, including networking, desktop applications, hardware, client/server operating systems, and data/voice communications.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office tools and Google Workspace.
  • Prior exposure to banking or accounting software such as DATEV and BAIS is an advantage.
  • Excellent English skills, as English is the working language.
  • Good German skills are strongly preferred for coordination with local vendors and providers.
  • Spanish language knowledge would be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A proactive, service-oriented mindset with a constructive approach to solving problems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities systematically, and contribute as a dependable team member.
  • High customer focus, strong productivity, and flexibility in day-to-day operations.

The role is part of the IT team in Germany and is based in the Frankfurt office. The successful candidate is expected to carry out assigned processes according to established standards and procedures, while also suggesting improvements that support team growth and digital transformation.
