Role Overview
An opportunity is available for an IT Project Manager to help drive technology initiatives for a large semi-government organization in Dubai. The position is intended for a practical project management professional who can back up the Delivery Manager on several workstreams while also taking ownership of smaller projects end to end.
This is an initial 12-month contract position based in the Technology function and reporting to the Delivery Manager.
What You Will Do
- Assist the Delivery Manager with planning, executing, and tracking technology projects.
- Lead smaller initiatives independently from start-up through closeout, keeping delivery aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Keep project plans, RAID registers, progress reports, and related documentation up to date.
- Work closely with business units, technical teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep work moving on time.
- Build dashboards, executive summaries, and governance reporting for leadership review.
- Contribute to PMO governance tasks such as steering committee preparation, project review meetings, and action log follow-up.
- Help strengthen PMO processes, reporting templates, and governance practices.
- Track and escalate risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests when necessary.
- Run stakeholder meetings and ensure project delivery follows internal methods and policies.
- Support UAT, go-live planning, vendor coordination, and post-implementation lessons learned.
Experience and Skills
- 4 to 6 years of experience in IT project management, PMO, or project coordination in enterprise settings.
- Background in supporting large technology programmes while also delivering smaller projects independently.
- Working knowledge of PMO governance, project reporting, dashboards, and executive-level status updates.
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- Practical experience maintaining project artefacts such as plans, RAID logs, status reports, and action trackers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Hands-on use of tools like MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Excellent organisational capability and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Exposure to PMO setup, governance framework development, or continuous improvement work is a plus.
- Experience with enterprise applications, digital transformation, or technology-enabled business change is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, or equivalent are desirable.
- Experience in government, semi-government, real estate, or large corporate environments will be advantageous.
