Role & Responsibilities
The Inventory Manager will oversee all aspects of inventory and stores management, ensuring efficient material flow and accurate record-keeping. This includes managing a diverse range of materials such as steel plates, structural steel sections, castings, bearings, motors, gearboxes, industrial hardware, and consumables. The role requires designing and maintaining storage systems, ensuring proper material identification and segregation, and conducting regular inventory checks and audits. A key responsibility is maintaining accurate inventory data within ERP systems and aligning inventory practices with Make-to-Stock (MTS) and Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing models. The manager will also be responsible for defining and optimizing inventory levels, identifying and addressing slow-moving or obsolete stock, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and safety standards. Collaboration with various departments like Production, Projects, Purchase, QA, and Finance is crucial for seamless operations.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 3-4 years in a managerial or senior leadership capacity. A qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain is preferred. The candidate should have proven experience leading a team of 8-10 personnel, prior experience within an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) organization, and strong practical knowledge of stores and rack management. Demonstrated expertise in ERP systems and inventory analytics is essential.
