Key responsibilities

The manager will coordinate housekeeping shift operations, keep room status updates flowing to the front desk, review guestroom cleanliness, prepare room assignments based on immediate needs and expected departures, and ensure supplies, equipment, and uniforms are available. The role also includes monitoring inspection programs, supporting budget targets, and communicating priority areas to the team for follow-up.

In addition, this position handles staffing and people management tasks such as training new room attendants, scheduling based on business demand, tracking time and attendance, confirming that expectations are understood, applying policies consistently, and supporting disciplinary and peer review processes where relevant. The role also requires maintaining employee recognition, encouraging feedback, and addressing concerns through an open-door approach.

Customer service is another core part of the job: the manager sets the standard for guest relations, supports corrective action plans to improve satisfaction, enables staff to deliver strong service, resolves complaints, and looks for ongoing service improvements.

Candidate profile
