Overview
This role is for a Help Desk Technician consultant supporting a state agency. The assignment is centered on first-line technical assistance, handling user administration paperwork, and keeping records accurate and complete. The work requires strong attention to detail, consistent adherence to procedures, and clear communication with agency supervisors and partner agencies.
Work Location and Assignment Details
The position is based on site at 505 Hudson Street, Hartford, Connecticut 06106-0000. The client is CT DCF. The expected assignment length is 12+ months. This is an on-site role.
What You Will Do
You will provide telephone-based and remote-control support for basic computer issues, assist users with form completion, and process agency documents related to moves, adds, and changes. The role also includes maintaining user administration records, making required updates to system administration, and ensuring forms are stored properly after review.
The technician is expected to respond quickly to agency end users, escalate issues when needed, and follow established agency procedures for creating and updating user accounts across multiple systems. Communication with supervisors and other state agencies is part of the day-to-day work.
Required Experience and Skills
A minimum of one year of prior experience is required in the areas listed below. The candidate should also be comfortable working in a customer-focused environment and handling documentation carefully.
- Installation of PC hardware and software
- Supporting end users in person and by phone
- Delivering strong customer service
Preferred Background
It is considered an advantage to have experience with computer and user administration, Microsoft Active Directory, Windows 10 and Windows 11, Office 365, and device management, imaging, and troubleshooting.
