General Cleaner

Role overview

This is a full-time janitorial position based in Marshall, Michigan. The pay rate is $14.50 per hour. Work is scheduled across all days of the week, Sunday through Saturday, with shift hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be a visible member of the cleaning team and complete a range of routine facility-cleaning tasks using 4M’s training and environmentally preferred cleaning methods.

• Learn and follow 4M’s disinfecting and cleaning procedures, including the use of Green Seal certified products and equipment.
• Represent the company in a professional, dependable, and courteous manner.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces such as counters, fixtures, glass, mirrors, windows, and furniture.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Restock bathroom and facility supplies such as towels, soap, and toilet paper.
• Sweep, damp mop, and vacuum floors as needed.
• Notice and report issues such as repairs, replacement needs, leaks, and drips to the appropriate supervisor.

Requirements

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior janitorial experience is needed, though training in company-specific methods will be provided.
• Must pass a drug screening and background check.
• Must follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Must wear company-provided apparel and required protective gear when needed, in line with the job and OSHA standards.
• Reliable transportation is required.
