About the Internship

Join Ayawi Designs LLP as a Furniture Designer intern and engage in a hands-on role that supports the entire furniture design process from concept to completion. The internship provides an opportunity to collaborate with our skilled team in crafting bespoke furniture that merges personal style with functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design team by brainstorming furniture concepts, creating layouts, mood boards, and preparing design presentations.
• Create and update detailed AutoCAD drawings including furniture designs, dimensions, and working plans.
• Develop 3D models and renders using SketchUp, V-Ray, Enscape, or comparable software tools.
• Participate in the selection of materials such as laminates, veneers, fabrics, finishes, hardware, and accessories.
• Organize and maintain material samples, catalogs, vendor data, and design references for easy accessibility.
• Assist with furniture and site measurements, ensuring accurate documentation as needed.
• Coordinate closely with design and production teams to grasp furniture construction and implementation details.
• Update drawings and presentations by incorporating feedback from senior designers.
• Help prepare client-facing materials like presentations, product sheets, and technical specification documents.
• Conduct fundamental research on current furniture trends, materials, color schemes, finishes, and new products in the market.
• Engage vendors for samples, catalogs, product info, and quotes when necessary.
• Accompany team members on site visits to client locations, workshops, or vendor facilities.
• Maintain orderly project documentation including files, drawings, and reference images.
• Provide general support to the team in design execution and daily coordination tasks.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the furniture design workflow, from initial concept through production and final delivery.

Candidate Eligibility

• Applicants must be Mechanical Engineering students with an interest in furniture and interior design.
• Availability for a full-time, in-office internship lasting 6 months starting between 24th September 2026 and 29th October 2026.
• Relevant skills and a design portfolio or college project portfolio are essential.
• Familiarity with Photoshop, V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, or similar rendering software is preferred.
• A proactive attitude and readiness to learn in a fast-paced design environment are important.
• Submission of a CV along with a portfolio or samples of design work is required for application.

Stipend and Benefits

The internship offers a monthly stipend ranging from INR 10,000 to 15,000. Successful interns will receive a certificate of completion as well as a letter of recommendation.
