About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, commercially focused Financial Controller to join a well-established, Irish-owned business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this leadership position is central to the company's operations, overseeing the entire finance function and serving as a key strategic partner to the senior leadership team. You will play a crucial role in decision-making, strategic planning, and driving overall business performance, particularly in a fast-paced, growing environment where you can make a significant impact on scaling the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and board reports.
- Develop and manage cash flow forecasts, conduct margin analysis, and provide commercial insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring rigorous cost control and a strong commercial perspective.
- Collaborate with senior management on financial modeling and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and banking institutions, oversee payroll processing, and ensure statutory compliance.
- Identify and implement improvements in financial systems, reporting capabilities, and operational processes to support business scalability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated finance team.
- Contribute to board-level discussions, supporting the development and execution of commercial strategies and business growth objectives.
Experience and Qualifications
- Must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA).
- Proven experience in a hands-on finance leadership role, preferably within a growing Small to Medium-sized Enterprise (SME).
- Demonstrated strong commercial acumen with the ability to effectively influence decision-making at various levels.
- Experience managing relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and banks.
- A proactive and driven individual, comfortable operating effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment.
