About the Role
A fast-scaling, private equity-backed government services company is looking for an FP&A Analyst to join its finance team. The business has expanded quickly through acquisitions and organic growth, and it is now strengthening its finance capability to support the next stage of growth.
The person in this role will partner closely with finance leadership on planning, forecasting, modeling, reporting, and strategic analysis. The position offers broad exposure to the wider business and involves working with operational leaders to review performance, spot improvement opportunities, and contribute to important decisions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning models.
- Create financial models and support business case evaluations.
- Prepare monthly reports and explain key variances.
- Analyze operational and financial performance trends.
- Develop executive-level reporting and dashboard materials.
- Support strategic initiatives and perform ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Take part in work related to acquisitions and growth-focused projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar discipline.
- 1 to 4 years of experience in FP&A, public accounting, transaction advisory, consulting, or another analytical finance role.
- Proven ability in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with financial reporting and data analysis tools is preferred.
- Experience in government contracting is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Background in a private equity-backed or fast-growing environment is a plus.
Compensation
The expected base pay is $85,000 to $100,000, plus bonus eligibility.
Location
This is a hybrid position based in the DMV area, with 1 to 2 days per week on site in the Washington DC-Baltimore area.
