Role overview

We are looking for a capable and dependable Chef to take up flexible ongoing work across Hamilton and the wider Waikato area. The role suits someone who values variety, wants shifts that can fit around existing commitments, and is keen to work in some of the region's top hospitality settings.

You may be placed in a range of kitchens and service environments, such as restaurants, cafés, hotels, catering operations, corporate events, functions, aged care facilities, and other premium hospitality venues. Each shift can differ, giving you the chance to broaden your experience, strengthen your skills, and work with new teams.

Compensation and work style

This opportunity offers casual and ongoing work at a rate of $32 to $36 per hour, plus 8% holiday pay. The setup is designed for flexibility, whether you want regular shifts, additional hours, or work that complements your current schedule.

What the job involves

You will support experienced kitchen teams and help deliver a consistently high standard of food service across events, functions, restaurants, cafés, hotels, and other hospitality environments throughout Hamilton.

What we are looking for

We need an experienced Chef with a strong background in busy hospitality, catering, or commercial kitchen settings. The ideal person works well under pressure, communicates clearly, and brings a professional, positive attitude to every shift.

You should be able to adapt quickly to different kitchen styles, team structures, and service demands. A chef uniform and knife kit must be your own. Having reliable transport will be helpful, and you must have open, unrestricted working rights in New Zealand.
