Role overview
The Queensland Government is seeking a skilled Executive Support Officer to provide high-level administrative and executive assistance within the Office of the CIO in Brisbane. This role calls for strong organisation, discretion, sound judgement, and the ability to keep priorities moving in a busy environment.
Key duties
- Oversee the CIO’s calendar, arrange executive documents and meeting materials, and make sure everything is accurate, suitable for use, and completed within set deadlines.
- Support meetings by drafting agendas, noting actions and decisions, and following up on open items for the CIO.
- Manage inboxes for executives and shared team mailboxes, sorting and directing correspondence to the right people.
- Log correspondence in systems such as MinCor and keep records complete and up to date.
- Draft written material that is polished, correct, and consistent with style guides, writing rules, and departmental standards.
- Deal with sensitive and confidential matters in line with policy and security obligations.
- Develop productive working relationships with the Information Services Leadership Team, senior leaders, and their support staff, and provide prompt, relevant advice when needed.
- Use initiative and judgement to spot concerns early, suggest practical solutions, and improve administrative ways of working.
- Provide general administrative assistance to the Office of the CIO, including task coordination, logistics, and office operations.
- Take on other duties as needed to support the office’s day-to-day priorities.
