About KordaMentha

KordaMentha has been handling some of the region’s most intricate and sensitive commercial matters since 2002. The firm works with corporates, financiers, legal teams, private investors, and government clients to grow, safeguard, and recover value. It is known for being independent, locally grounded, and action-oriented, with a focus on doing what is best for clients, employees, and the broader community. Its experience spans finance, property, law enforcement, and executive leadership, supporting work across financial crime, forensic services, performance improvement, real estate, and restructuring.

The organisation aims to deliver bold, practical solutions that create growth, certainty, and measurable value.

Why Join

  • Professional development through mentoring, customised learning at KordaMentha Business School, study assistance, and the Accelerate pathway for Analysts through Associate Directors.
  • Flexible working practices that support better work and life integration.
  • Career progression based on merit, plus secondment opportunities and exposure to senior leaders on meaningful projects.
  • Leave options that include purchasing extra leave, substituting public holidays, volunteering leave, generous parental leave, and career break arrangements.
  • Social connection through events, cultural celebrations, and the firm’s biennial black-tie ball.
  • Family-friendly support, including flexible parental leave, return-to-work assistance via GracePapers, and resources for all stages of family life.
  • Wellbeing support with inclusive wellness initiatives and a confidential, industry-leading employee assistance program for employees and their families.

Role Overview

The Performance Improvement practice is growing steadily and is looking for an experienced Executive Director to help shape the future direction of the business. This is a senior leadership position that calls for strong commercial judgment, a deep understanding of business financial operations, and the ability to turn complex financial and operational analysis into decisive action that improves value.

In this role, you will lead complex, high-impact assignments, advise boards and executive teams, and drive tangible improvements in financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Win and lead engagements by developing business opportunities and managing senior client relationships across financial and operational performance improvement.
  • Advise boards and executive leadership on financial strategy, cash flow, cost structures, and business model optimisation using disciplined, evidence-based analysis.
  • Direct major transformation work by identifying the drivers of underperformance across profit and loss, balance sheet, and operations, then delivering measurable gains in profitability and efficiency.
  • Take ownership of engagement economics, maintaining commercial discipline and accountability for revenue, margins, and client outcomes.
  • Build the firm’s profile in the market through thought leadership and support the growth of its performance improvement reputation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop teams that demonstrate strong financial discipline, accountability, and a commercial mindset.

What the Role Provides

  • Direct influence at board and executive level.
  • Work on high-value engagements with major financial and operational impact.
  • A strategic leadership role in a practice that is expanding.
  • A performance-driven, commercially focused working environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring substantial experience, typically 12+ years, in professional services, consulting, or a similar setting. You should have a strong history of winning and leading large, complex engagements and the confidence to work with boards and senior executives.

You will also need deep capability in financial and operational performance improvement, including diagnosing complex business issues and shaping practical solutions. Strong commercial understanding is essential, along with experience managing engagement economics, revenue growth, and profitability. A well-established market reputation, strong professional network, and proven leadership in building and retaining high-performing teams are important.

Excellent analytical ability, financial modelling skills, strategic problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management are also expected. The role may require travel as needed.
