Role overview
This position focuses on hands-on execution of mechanical work at a project site. The engineer will oversee installation activities across piping, equipment erection, HVAC, fire-fighting, and utility systems, while keeping the work aligned with schedule, quality requirements, and site safety expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out site-level mechanical installation work, including equipment erection, piping networks, ducting, fire-fighting systems, and related utilities.
- Guide subcontractors and on-site teams so that progress stays in line with the approved plan and technical standards.
- Review mechanical drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and layout documents to understand execution requirements.
- Carry out stage-by-stage checks, testing support, and installation verification in line with QA/QC procedures.
- Make sure the site has the needed materials, tools, labour, and equipment to keep work moving without interruption.
- Prepare and maintain site records such as daily progress updates, inspection records, and material consumption or tracking logs.
- Work closely with procurement teams to ensure material arrives on time and with design teams to resolve technical queries.
- Track contractor output and escalate any deviation, delay, or quality non-conformance.
- Follow site safety rules, take part in safety audits, and contribute to toolbox talks.
- Assist with commissioning activities and help close punch points during project handover.
Additional information
The role requires active coordination with multiple stakeholders on site, including contractors, procurement, design, QA/QC, and safety teams. Strong attention to execution detail, documentation, and compliance is essential.
