Job Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Electrical Engineer to handle technical office support for active construction assignments in Doha, Qatar. This position focuses on drawing review, technical documentation, supplier coordination, and hands-on support for site teams. The right candidate will bring substantial experience in electrical or MEP contracting environments, especially in technical office duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine IFC drawings, project specifications, and other technical documents related to electrical works.
- Spot design gaps or inconsistencies and raise RFIs for consultant or client clarification.
- Carry out material take-offs and compute quantities for electrical systems.
- Prepare technical paperwork such as method statements, reports, material submissions, and O&M manuals.
- Assist draftsmen with the preparation and submission of shop drawings.
- Coordinate procurement tasks and maintain follow-up with suppliers to secure material delivery on schedule.
- Assess supplier quotations and technical proposals to confirm they align with project needs.
- Compile and send technical material submittals for consultant review and approval.
- Offer technical guidance and engineering solutions for issues arising at site level.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure the work meets project requirements, codes, and standards.
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of experience in technical office roles within construction or MEP projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and MEP coordination.
- Practical experience with IFC drawing reviews, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ability to perform material take-offs and quantity estimation accurately.
- Experience preparing technical submittals, method statements, and O&M manuals.
- Working knowledge of procurement workflows and supplier coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.
- Prior experience in electrical technical office operations is essential.
- Capability to detect design discrepancies and draft RFIs.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Documents required: updated CV and a copy of QID.

This role is based in Doha and is structured as an onsite contract position. The opportunity is geared toward professionals with strong technical office experience in electrical contracting or MEP project environments.
