Role Overview
The Editor will be responsible for refining and improving written materials across multiple formats. This role involves partnering with writers, designers, marketers, and other stakeholders to make sure every piece of content meets editorial expectations, supports business goals, and reflects the intended tone and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, correct, and polish written content to improve grammar, clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Ensure all material follows the brand’s tone, style rules, and editorial guidelines.
- Edit a wide range of content, including articles, blogs, promotional content, reports, website copy, and other communications.
- Verify facts and confirm content accuracy whenever needed.
- Work closely with writers and creators to raise the overall quality and impact of content.
- Coordinate content schedules, deadlines, and editorial planning.
- Offer helpful feedback and guidance to contributors.
- Improve content so it is easier to read, more engaging, and better suited to the target audience.
- Support broader content strategy and publishing efforts.
- Keep editorial records, style references, and quality processes up to date.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Media, Marketing, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 2 to 5+ years of relevant experience in editing, publishing, content creation, journalism, or a related field.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Strong command of grammar, proofreading, and copy-editing.
- High attention to detail along with good organizational ability.
- Comfort handling several tasks and deadlines at the same time.
- Working knowledge of digital publishing tools and content management systems.
- Solid analytical thinking and fact-checking ability.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with people from different teams.
- Preferred experience includes editing digital, marketing, technical, or corporate content, plus familiarity with SEO and publishing tools such as WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- Knowledge of AP, Chicago, or organization-specific style standards is an advantage.
- Experience in publishing, media, marketing, or agency settings is preferred.
