Role Overview
The Duty Engineer will support the Maintenance Officer and Senior Duty Engineer in the day-to-day upkeep of hotel operations. The role focuses on keeping equipment and facilities safe, functional, and in line with hotel standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Maintenance Officer and Senior Duty Engineer with routine maintenance activities across the department.
- Check hotel systems and fixtures such as plumbing, electrical equipment, locks, heating, air conditioning, and bathroom fittings to confirm they are working properly.
- Carry out minor renovation work, including painting, carpeting, and furnishing tasks, to help maintain the property’s standards.
- Detect equipment or system issues and coordinate repairs to bring operations back to normal.
- Make sure firefighting equipment and safety systems remain functional and ready for immediate use.
- Track preventive and corrective maintenance work and keep records updated to support efficiency and control.
- Maintain a daily maintenance log covering all work completed within the hotel.
- Keep safety-related administrative documents up to date and follow required safety procedures.
- Protect your own safety as well as the safety of colleagues and outside contractors during maintenance work.
- Provide practical maintenance support to coworkers whenever assistance is needed.
- Represent the Accor vision in daily work and demonstrate the company’s values consistently.
Qualifications
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar maintenance position, ideally in hotels, facilities, or construction-related maintenance.
- ITE or Nitec qualification in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, or Air Conditioning Servicing.
- Good technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Clear communication skills for working with team members and mechanics.
- A positive, service-minded, and cooperative attitude.
