About the Organisation
Wragby Surgery is seeking a dispenser to join its approachable and supportive team, which includes GPs, nurse practitioners, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, and non-clinical colleagues. The surgery is purpose-built and serves the town of Wragby as well as nearby villages, with a focus on delivering high-quality, friendly, and accessible primary care.
This role offers the chance to contribute directly to patient care by helping ensure medicines are supplied safely, accurately, and with a warm, personal service.
Role Overview
As a Dispenser, you will handle the safe and accurate dispensing of prescriptions, maintain dispensary inventory, and deliver strong patient-facing service. You will work alongside the clinical and wider practice teams to support smooth, efficient, and safe dispensing operations.
Key Duties
- Prepare repeat and acute prescriptions with accuracy.
- Explain medication information to patients in a clear, friendly, and helpful way.
- Collect prescription fees and make sure the patient declaration on the back of the prescription is completed and signed.
- Monitor, order, and manage dispensary stock.
- Store medicines correctly and maintain effective stock control.
- Keep shelves, work areas, and dispensary equipment clean, orderly, and in proper working condition.
- Respond quickly to any drug safety alerts or bulletins received.
- Assist the clinical team with prescription-related queries.
- Carry out any additional tasks needed to preserve a high-quality and efficient dispensing service.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will be a qualified dispenser with NVQ Level 2 for Dispensing Doctors or an equivalent BTEC qualification, and will align with the surgery’s values of excellence, compassion, respect, and patient-centred care.

Pay
The rate of pay is £13.30 per hour plus pension, depending on experience and qualifications.
