About the Role

Knight Inlet Lodge is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to join our team in Black Creek, British Columbia. This is a full-time, onsite position focused on maintaining kitchen hygiene and supporting food preparation. The role is considered a green job, contributing to environmental preservation and Canada's net-zero targets.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashers to clean dishes, glassware, and flatware.
• Sanitize and wash dishes, cookware, and utensils by hand.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, including work surfaces, appliances, and storage areas.
• Manage kitchen waste by removing garbage and trash.
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting fruits and vegetables, and portioning/wrapping food items.
• Prepare, heat, and finish simple food dishes.
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars with necessary items.
• Use manual and electrical appliances for food preparation tasks like peeling and slicing.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen floor by sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing.
• Sharpen kitchen knives as needed.
• Clean and sanitize items like dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
• Receive, unpack, and store supplies in designated areas such as refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards.
• Handle and store cleaning products safely.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar kitchen role is advantageous.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be reliable and a strong team player.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check.
• Must be able to work at the physical location; remote work is not an option.
