About the role

Help at Hand Support Services is seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to contribute to meaningful support for people living with disability. The role is centered on person-led care, so your day-to-day tasks will vary based on the individual you support.

This is a varied and engaging position. On some days you may accompany a client to the beach, a movie, or a sporting event. On other days you may help them attend a medical appointment or spend time with them at home over a cup of tea. The work is diverse and changes from day to day.

What you need to bring

  • Your own dependable vehicle that is fully insured.
  • A current police check, issued within the last 6 months, or an international police check if applicable.
  • Certificate III in Disability or equivalent experience.
  • A valid Working With Children Check.
  • Current first aid and CPR certification.
  • A full, clean Australian driver’s licence.
  • Strong punctuality and reliability.
  • Flexibility and a calm, composed manner.
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills.
  • An empathetic, proactive attitude and genuine interest in disability support.
  • The ability to work independently and stay steady during crisis situations.
  • Legal entitlement to live and work in Australia.
